The First Real Snow of 2007

Winter in Chicago is truly one of my favorite times of the year. And that first real snowfall absolutely delights me. Despite the chill and the cold, I feel a warmth come to my thoughts as I think of comforting evenings, all curled up inside watching the wintry weather!

I guess that technically our first snow was this past Saturday. I went downtown with some friends to the Christkindlmarket. We got caught in the snow storm that swept through the midwest. It was gone by Sunday afternoon, but was so fun while it lasted. It made for a very Christmasy setting, as we toured the market, glanced at the displays in Macys, and sat in the second floor of McDonalds sipping tea.

However, old man Winter dumped on us again this week! We officially have a pile of snow and very cold temperatures. It is officially Christmas! I look forward to evenings at home, sipping tea or coffee, watching the snow fall.
